Using the "Accusharp" on Swords
To answer your question, yes you can sharpen medieval swords with the accusharp, and it’s considered a fast a dirty way to do, if not necessarily ideal. While it does of course put a secondary bevel on the edge, that doesn’t seem to concern European sword collectors as much as those who own Japanese swords, and again, even Paul has done it on such swords in order to put on a quick workable edge for testing. So yes, it’s doable. Not my preferred method, but definitely doable, and certainly faster than my preferred method (it’ll take around 20 mins with the accusharp, whereas other methods can take hours at the very least).
